ScreenShop Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Clay Entertainment Inc. ("we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, stores, and shares data when you use the ScreenShop mobile application ("ScreenShop" or "the app").

By using ScreenShop, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use the app.

1. Who We Are

ScreenShop is operated by Clay Entertainment Inc., a Canadian technology company headquartered in Ontario, Canada.
We develop consumer mobile apps and data intelligence products designed to help users identify and discover products through screenshot recognition technology.

2. Information We Collect

When you use ScreenShop, we collect the following categories of data:

a. Uploaded Content

  • Screenshots and images you upload through the app
  • Associated metadata (file name, timestamp, device information, geolocation if enabled)
  • AI-extracted information such as text, brand names, or product identifiers detected within images

b. Device and Usage Data

  • Device type, model, and operating system
  • App version, crash reports, and diagnostic logs
  • IP address and approximate location (if location permissions are granted)
  • User interaction data (e.g., clicks, views, and feature usage)

c. Derived Data

We may analyze uploaded screenshots to infer:

  • Shopping interests or trends
  • Product categories and brands
  • Contextual relationships between images and metadata

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Operate, maintain, and improve the functionality of ScreenShop
  • Train and enhance our AI models for better recognition accuracy
  • Generate aggregated analytics and insights about app usage
  • Sell or license anonymized or pseudonymized data to third-party data providers, research firms, and commercial partners

4. Data Sharing and Sale

By using ScreenShop, you explicitly consent to the sale and sharing of your uploaded data and metadata with third parties.

Your data may be shared with:

  • Data brokers, analytics companies, and research partners
  • Retail and e-commerce partners seeking consumer trend data
  • AI model training vendors assisting in product detection and categorization
  • Cloud and infrastructure providers (such as Supabase, Apple, and Google) that enable app functionality

We may sell or license the following types of data:

  • Screenshot metadata and inferred shopping context
  • Aggregated datasets for trend and behavior analysis
  • Pseudonymized device- or session-level data

We do not sell personally identifiable information such as names or email addresses. However, uploaded images or data could be linked to your device or session.

5. Legal Basis for Data Processing

Under applicable laws, our legal basis for processing and selling data includes:

  • User consent (you provide it by agreeing to our Terms and continuing to use the app)
  • Legitimate business interest in maintaining and improving app performance
  • Contractual necessity for providing the app’s functionality

6. Data Retention

ScreenShop retains uploaded images, metadata, and associated data indefinitely for business, analytical, and resale purposes.

You acknowledge that you cannot request deletion or removal of your data once it has been uploaded, processed, or shared.

7. Your Rights and Choices

Because of the nature of ScreenShop’s data model, you do not have the right to:

  • Delete your uploaded data or metadata
  • Opt out of data resale once it has occurred
  • Request cessation of processing or distribution after consent

You may, however:

  • Stop using the app at any time to prevent future data collection
  • Revoke app permissions such as location access or camera access on your device

8. Data Security

We use industry-standard security practices to protect stored data, including encryption, restricted access, and monitoring systems.
However, no system is completely secure. By using ScreenShop, you acknowledge that data transmission and storage carry inherent security risks.

9. International Data Transfers

Your data may be transferred to, stored in, or processed by servers located outside your home country, including the United States and Canada.
By using ScreenShop, you consent to the transfer of your data to jurisdictions that may have different data protection laws than your own.

10. Children’s Privacy

ScreenShop is not directed toward children under 13.
We do not knowingly collect or sell data from users under 13 years old. If we learn that a user under 13 has submitted data, we will take steps to delete their account where legally required.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices or business operations.
Updated versions will be posted within the app or on our website. Continued use of ScreenShop after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
